STC, established in 1997, in the Golden Jubilee year of our independence, by V.S.V.Vidyaa Mandir, a charitable trust, has completed its, 14th year. The trust , recognizing the need for higher education, among the rural youth set-up the college with a determined vision to provide collegiate education to the rural students hailing from various villages in and around Pollachi. The College obtained affiliation from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore and commenced its educational journey on the auspicious day of Vijayadasami in the year 1997 and has crossed several milestones till date. The first batch of students were graduated from the institution in June 2000. Began with a strength of 37 students in 1997 the college has grown tremendously within a period of 14 years and the students strength has increased to 2712 in 2011-12. The college offers 8 UG programmes and 8 PG programmes in various disciplines. In order to improve the employability skills of the students, the college has made all arrangements to offer a certificate course in Communicative English approved by Bharathiar University, Coimbatore and 8 Career Oriented Courses approved by UGC. The college offers Communicative English course for all the students and a well furnished language laboratory is also available for this purpose. The college is well equipped with the state-of-art infrastructural facilities like well built airy and feel fresh classroom with modern amenities, computer labs, library, special Journal section, physical fitness Centre with latest equipments etc. A team of well qualified and dedicated faculty members are there to offer quality education to students and for their value oriented transformation. To accommodate women students hailing from far-off places, a modern, well furnished hostel has been constructed at a cost of Rs.25 lakhs by the Management in November 2001 and it is functioning very well.
